Dr. Ann K. Hofer takes her oath as the 4th Governor of Zamboanga Sibugay on Thursday, June 30. The occasion was history unfolding as she is the first female local chief executive to lead the province since its founding by her late father Governor George T. Hofer, the acknowledged Founding Father of Zamboanga Sibugay. He also served as its first governor.
She is sworn in in the presence of her husband Rod Santos, mother Dr. Dulce Kintanar Hofer, brother Jet, nephew Pava, and relatives.
The ceremony commenced with a meaningful celebration of the Eucharistic Mass presided by Most Reverend Julius S. Tonnel and 20 priests.
In her inaugural speech, Dr. Ann vows to hit the ground running to fulfill her campaign promise of progress to Sibugay through her priority agenda encapsulated in the acronym HOFER – Health Services and Wellness; Order and Safety; Farms, Fisheries and Food Security, Environment and Education; and, Roads and Transport Networks.
